I was concerned that this was a corporate hotel, which I normally loathe. The hotel was big, but we were made to feel individually welcome and received excellent service. The reception staff, restaurant staff and the cleaning staff were lovely. They were all very polite, professional and friendly, which made us feel at ease and comfortable. The management should be praised for their excellent training. I don't give this kind of feedback lightly and it is rare for me to give such a high score unless it is truly deserved in all aspects. I would like to stay at this hotel again if I get the opportunity.

The score would have been a ten, but for a minor irritation, which was the cooking of the pheasant my friend and I had. It was overcooked and a little tough rather than pink, which was a shame as the flavours were excellent. Saying that, the starter and desert were delicious and a credit to a very accomplished chef. I did not want to complain, but my comments regarding the pheasant were overheard by a member of staff who immediately offered to change it. Since it was only a minor issue, I declined but was impressed by the attentive way in which the member of staff acted.
